I believe the most expensive furniture item is the "Throne" at 800,000 bells. The most expensive item in the game is the "Royal Crown" at 1,200,000 Bells.

I think it's the brief case with cash/gold bars instead of it. I don't remember the price but it's pretty expensive.

@Espeon, The "Royal Crown" is the most costly item of ACNH and for purchase only at Able Sisters when lucky to find. If you want one it's np to get one for you. It is a catalogue item so after u can get as many as u may want.
