You have to add a profile to your Switch. So when you enter a game, instead of clicking on the little icon for your profile, click the + button and go through the steps like you did when you first created your initial profile. You will get a tent and you work your way up.

Lucky, your houses sound so cool! I would get so confused with that many houses. I get confused with two!!! Which storage have I put things in, what's in pockets, etc. It's a lot!
