How do I talk to other players while visiting?

In game when visitors are on your island or vice versa.. u use island chat.. press 'R' this opens up chat keyboard.. and u type message on Switch screen :)

If u want to message best friends.. not currently on ur island u srlectvghem in nookphone and select send message if they are in game they will see message :)
